Alex was an absolute dream to work with! She was willing to travel to come see me, was an invaluable resource through my quarantine pregnancy, and when no one but my husband was allowed at the hospital with me, she coached us through the phone. Alex was available for any and all questions and reassured me when I was afraid and nervous. She was everything I could have asked for in a doula and if you’re on the fence I encourage you to JUST BOOK HER. I promise you’ll thank me later!

Why do I do what I doula?

Me%20and%20Mamaw_edited.jpg

I come from a large family. When I was a child we all still got together at my great-grandparent's house for Sunday lunch every week. Mamaw Maggie and Papaw Dwight had 5 children, 9 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 6 great-greats by the time Mamaw passed away. So there were always kids running everywhere, babies being passed around to aunts and cousins, and a table full of women after lunch ready to share their stories and struggles with one another. We all helped each other carry the weight of motherhood in our family with a strong, beautiful, and wise matriarch to lead us. I thought that's what everyone had. Then I grew up and moved away from my little home town. I found out quickly we aren't all blessed with that kind of support system, I had taken something of great importance for granted. It is my sincere hope to offer the same kind of support to other women I was so blessed to have.
